Parts of Speech ( ชนิดของคำ )

ข้อความ ประกอบด้วย"คำ" ( word ) หรือกลุ่มคำซึ่งนำมาเรียงต่อเนื่องกันเป็นวลี (phrase) หรือประโยค ( sentence ) จะมีหน้าที่อย่างหนึ่ง อย่างใดใน 8 หน้าที่ ตามหลักไวยากรณ์อังกฤษ ( grammar )หน้าที่ของคำเรียกว่า "ชนิดของคำ" ( parts of speech ) ซึ่งได้แก่

Noun (คำนาม)Pronoun (คำสรรพนาม)Verb (คำกริยา) Adverb (คำกริยาวิเศษณ์)

Adjective (คำคุณศัพท์) Preposition (คำบุพบท) Conjunction (คำสันธาน) Interjection (คำอุทาน)

1. Noun ( คำนาม )

เป็นคำที่ใช้เรียกคน สัตว์ สิ่งของ ทั้งที่มีรูปร่างเช่น โต๊ะ สมุด และไม่มีรูปร่างเช่น วัน เวลา อากาศ รวมทั้งชื่อของคน สัตว์ หรือสิ่งของ เช่น

คน: man father lady สัตว์: dog cat bird สิ่งของ: city table month

ชื่อคน: John Mary ชื่อสัตว์: Lassie Lucifer ชื่อสิ่งของ: Bangkok January

2. Pronoun (คำสรรพนาม )

เป็นคำที่ใช้เรียกแทนคำนามเพื่อหลีกเลี่ยงการกล่าวซ้ำ เช่น I, we, you, he, she, it หรือใช้แทนคำนามที่เราไม่ทราบว่าสิ่งนั้นเป็นอะไร หรือใคร เช่น someone, something

แทนคำซ้ำ Mai is a beautiful woman. Mai is a popular singer.
= Mai is a beautiful woman. She is a popular singer.
ยังไม่รู้ว่าเป็นอะไร Something is missing. ไม่รู้ว่าอะไรหายไป

3. Verb (คำกริยา )

เป็นคำที่บอกอาการหรือการกระทำ ( action ) หรือบอกความเป็นอยู่ ( being ) หรือสภาวะความเป็นอยู่ ( state of being ) เช่น fly, is, am, seem, look.

การกระทำ ความเป็นอยู่ สภาวะความเป็นอยู่

Birds fly. นกบินDanny is a boy. แดนนี่เป็นเด็กผู้ชาย He looks good. เขาแลดูดี

4. Adjectives ( คุณศัพท์ )

เป็นคำที่อธิบายหรือขยาย noun หรือ pronoun ให้ไดัรายละเอียดเกี่ยวกับคุณสมบัติของสิ่งนั้นๆ เพิ่มขึ้น เช่น new, ugly, ill, happy, afraid, careless.

He bought a new car. เขาซื้อรถใหม่.( new ขยาย car ซึ่งเป็น noun )
They are ugly. พวกเขาน่าเกลียด ( ugly ขยาย they ซึ่งเป็น pronoun )

5. Adverb ( วิเศษณ์ หรือ กริยาวิเศษณ์)

เป็นคำที่อธิบายหรือขยาย verb หรือ adjective หรือ adverb ด้วยกันเอง เช่น hard, fast, very

He works hard. เขาเป็นคนทำงานหนัก (hard ขยาย works ซึ่งเป็น verb)
He is very rich. เขาเป็นคนจนมาก ( very ขยาย rich ซึ่งเป็น adjective )
He works very hard.เขาเป็นคนที่ทำงานหนักมาก ( very ขยาย hard ซึ่งเป็น adverb )

6. Preposition (คำบุพบท )

เป็นคำ หรือกลุ่มคำที่วางหน้า noun หรือ pronoun เพื่อแสดงว่าคำนามหรือสรรพนามนั้นเกี่ยวข้องกับคำอื่นๆในประโยคอย่างไรเช่น on, at, in, from, within

I will see you on Monday. ฉันจะพบกับคุณในวันจันทร์
She was waiting at the restaurant. เธอรออยู่ที่ร้านอาหาร
There is a cockroach in my room. มีแมลงสาบตัวหนึ่งในห้องฉัน
We must finish the project within a year. ราจะต้องทำโครงการนี้ให้เสร็จใน 1 ปี

7. Conjunction ( คำสันธาน )

เป็นคำที่ใช้เชื่อม คำ กลุ่มคำ หรือประโยคเข้าด้วยกันเพื่อให้ความหมายสมบูรณ์ขึ้น เช่น and, but, therefore, beside, either..or

John is rich and handsome .จอห์นเป็นคนรวยและรูปหล่อ
Either you or she has to do this job. ไม่คุณก็เธอที่จะต้องทำงานนี้

8. Interjection ( คำอุทาน )

เป็นคำอุทานที่แสดงถึงอารมณ์ ความรู้สึกที่เกิดขึ้นในขณะนั้น โดยไม่เกี่ยวข้องกับคำอื่นๆ ใน ประโยคเลย เช่น Oh God! , WOW, Hurrah

ความพ่ายแพ้ที่ยิ่งใหญ่ที่สุดเกิดขึ้นตั้งแต่เอ่ยคำว่า "เป็นไปไม่ได้"

Failure is the thought of not being able to succeed by not going to college.

โลกนี้ไม่มีงานต่ำต้อย งานต่ำต้อยคืองานของคนที่คิดว่าตนเองไม่มีค่าเท่านั้น
There is no such thing as a dirty job in this world.
A dirty job only belongs to those that have dirty minds.
There is no job that is too low.
A low job is that of someone who thinks they are worthless.


การศึกษาไม่ใช่โรงเรียน ไม่ใช่ตำรา ไม่ใช่มหาวิทยาลัย ไม่ใช่ประกาศนียบัตร
ไม่ใช่ปริญญาบัตร หากคือความต้องการที่จะยกระดับของปัญญา
และปัญญานั้นไม่ใช่เป็นเพียงความคิดเท่านั้นหากคือความเมตตาด้วย

Education does not only comprise of school, textbooks, college,
certificates or diplomas but rather the desire to improve one's intellectual mindset.
And intellectuality does not exist only in way of thinking but in compassion as well.
Therefore education is not only developing one part of one’s brain
but it is also a development of the mind and way of life.

Every moment exists for a split second and cannot revolve back
therefore it would be a pity to waste time lamenting fate,
having regrets, and gossiping.
